We thank all those who joined us on the 12th. Beth was flying back from a business meeting in Cancun and landed in Dallas 30 minutes early – only to sit on the runway for an hour and a half due to snow in Dallas awaiting a gate. Those gathered at the house decided to wait for her! We walked to Wendy’ site carrying balloons and flashlights and torchlights. The evening snow was soft to nil, the moon was full and the reflections on the snow at Wendy’s was beautiful. Barbara M. (a pastor from the church and friend of Wendy’s) was so kind to join us and truly made the time special with the words she offered, both personal words and then a prayer. The balloons were released and reflected off the snow and the lights and we were able to tract them for quite some distance before they disappeared in the night sky. Tears, memories, laughter and most of all caring friends – all present and supportive to our family and Wendy’s memory. Thanks to a special little girl named Maggie, snowballs started flying – mostly at her Daddy! Wendy especially would have loved it! We then returned to the house for pizza, drinks and hugs.
Next year, same time, same place!
